Antonio Cabello, Tutor

Antonio Cabello

My name is Antonio Cabello and I am a Civil Engineering student with an emphasis in transportation. I chose Civil Engineering as my major because I believe it is the most effective way to change our local neighborhoods for the better. Through improving the designs of the roads and bridges we use every day, we can reach a better future for everyone! My favorite class at the U has been Statics (CVEEN 2010) for its thoroughness in explaining the fundamental math behind everything an engineer does.

Matthew Jones

I'm Matthew Jones, a Construction Engineering student here at the University of Utah. I chose to major in Construction Engineering because I've always wanted to contribute to the infrastructure of Utah. I have a strong desire to provide for the community and intend to do so by developing the infrastructure of the future. My favorite courses up to this point include statics with Dr. Zhu, structural analysis with Dr. Ibarra, and geotechnical engineering with Dr. Mohammadi."

Chris Wierenga

Hello, I'm Chris Wierenga, a senior in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural and Geotechnical Engineering. I chose Civil Engineering because it rewards perseverance and innovation with getting to see your work come to life through your projects. We may study soils, but the sky is the limit. Steel I with Dr. Ibarra and Concrete I with Dr. Johnson have been my favorite courses, they bring together so much interesting prior material, give great insight into the industry, and give immediately applicable skills. I also enjoy hiking, longboarding, and photography.

Brandon Peterson

Hey y'all! My name is Brandon Peterson, and I am a senior here at the U studying civil engineering with a nuclear engineering minor! I chose civil engineering because I wanted to be a well-rounded engineer with many skills that could be used nationwide. My favorite class so far has been structural loads and analysis with Dr. Ibarra, as it helped me land my first internship in the field!"
